1. PSTN Loop Start & Caller ID Compliance

The FXO Media Gateway fully supports PSTN Loop Start analogue trunk interfaces for connection to the Public Switched Telephone .

Network (PSTN). It supports DTMF and FSK - based Caller ID transmission, compliant with common PSTN signalling standards adopted by Fixed Telecommunications Network Services (FTNS) operators in Hong Kong. Caller Number Display (CND) information is transparently delivered to the IP-PBX / PABX system via SIP signalling.

2. Emergency PSTN Fallback / Failover Capability

The FXO Media Gateway supports emergency PSTN fallback operation. In the event of IP network failure, IP-PBX failure, or system abnormal condition, pre-configured extensions or routes can be automatically switched to analogue PSTN lines via FXO interfaces,ensuring continuity of basic external call services. This design satisfies government PABX requirements for emergency communication resilience.

3. Compatibility with FTNS Operators

The FXO Media Gateway is designed for integration with Fixed Telecommunications Network Services (FTNS) operators. It supports standard PSTN electrical characteristics, signalling methods, and interface requirements for connection to operator - provided analogue exchange lines. Technical information, interface parameters, and on-site support can be provided to facilitate PSTN line

application, commissioning, and acceptance testing with FTNS operators.

4. Compliance with EMSD / ESG20 PABX System Architecture

The FXO Media Gateway is suitable for deployment as part of a Government PABX system architecture in accordance with General.Specification for Private Automatic Branch Exchange. It provides PSTN access, emergency backup routing, and interoperability with SIP-based PABX systems, supporting the overall reliability, availability, and operational requirements stipulated in government PABX projects.
